Hey guys! Sorry for the delay in writing you. But this has been one amazingly crazy 6 months (LOL). Anyhoo, between family crisis, sickness (pertaining to my own health), and going back to college and all it has been a very eventful 2018. For which I for one am very thankful that it is all over and I'm now looking forward to a bright and healthy New Year! This said, as some of you know I started back to school last summer at Gordon State but due to things that were beyond my control (with my health and all) it just so happens that I had to take a little step back and refigure some things out. So, instead of pursuing my degree through them. I have decided to focus a little more on my businesses for the moment and just switch over to pursuing my degree online for the time being with Lee University. And let me just say that I have received recommendations there. The staff are high quality people, very professional and always willing to help whenever needed.
But on another note with the bad turn in my heart health over the last few months I have decided to do something on more than just a trial basis, rather lets call it a lifestyle basis. Now, I have always had high cholesterol and I did not know why until I did some research on it back in college last semester but apparently there is an interesting connection between a certain protein and a malfunctioning portion DNA that causes a genetic form of High Cholesterol in people that not only leads to all sorts of health issues like hardening of the arteries, dementia and so on but apparently it causes heart disease as well. So, my lifestyle goal now is to lose a good 45lbs, start eating more heart healthy foods and to find a way to do so that will be enjoyable for all. And if you would like to follow me a little more closely on this, other than the occasional instagram post you can join with me on facebook at RISE UP AND WALK. There you will see more fun and fitness encouragements. As well as we are working on creating individual plans for anyone who joins the group and requests it. But in the meantime I just wanted to give a quick shoutout to these handy little devices that have helped me to get my life back on track in some phenomenal ways.
1. Is my health journal that is pictured above. Until I started school last semester I had no clue what I was doing with regards to keeping track of my health. But when I started school my PE coach actually had us start keeping a journal of everything we did that day as well as what we had eaten, and boy it was what didn't I learn about myself during that time. I learned that it is not only crucial for our own success in life that we keep personal journals and business journals but that we keep health journals as well as to keep ourselves on track in your daily lives and not forget who we are, what we are doing, and where we have came from.
2. Another helpful little thingy is something called the Apple Watch. Now I bought mine when it they first came out a few years ago so it's a first gen. But I have absolutely loved it and without it I would not have known that I had heart disease. It's amazing little beeper let me know something was wrong the moment I first put it on and it was something that the doctors couldn't even detect on me in many years of tests that I have been through. So, shout out to Apple!
3. Now this is one of my most favorite Apps by far and one that I have been the most successful with it's called MyFitnessPal and if you can afford the Premium plan on it I would highly encourage it. Because it will not only help you to achieve your fitness goals but to keep them in focus. And as a member of MyFitnessPal you get to not only keep track of what you eat and how much but you get to keep up with your weight and exercise as well as interact with others who are joining with you in the fight for good health. Also as a member you get to have access to recipes and in depth break downs on controlling every aspect of your intake as well as the ability to share the information with professionals.
4. And for those that desire to take things to the next level. I would like to suggest Fitbod. Because it has really helped me to get more energy into my legs and that was something that I had long since thought that I had lost, forever. But now that I have started using this app it has honestly made me feel 20 years younger. It is truly amazing! This app not only shows you how to lift weights but it helps you keep count of how many sets and how many reps that you are currently on and if you are ADD like me and continually forgetful. How much do you want to know that that's a super blessing? So I encourage you to get this app it will take you to a whole new level of feeling so much better not only in your body but in life in general.
This said, I am going to close with on final word of encouragement and that is "Beloved I desire you to prosper and be in good health, even as your soul prospers." (3 John 1:2) And "Therefore since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us. Let us set our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of a faith..." (Hebrews 12:1)
